Is there a rule of thumb to predict the cost of owning a boat, given its cost (or even its length, etc). Cost meaning fuel, registration, maintenance, docking, etc. Larger boats, too (i.e. $50,000+)

Anyone know if you can use a brand new boat in Texas before you get the registration stickers?

I’ve had the boat for 10 days, and want to use it. The financing bank is handling the tax/registration, but can take up to 30 days to receive the stickers. Can I use the boat with no numbers/stickers on it?
